What is the return policy?

We strive to keep every customer happy, If this isn’t the case, let us know here : lucie@luciedemoyencourt.com

Shellegance offers refunds in cases where items are damaged or broken during transit.

We’ll do our best to work with you to make it right. We will accept returns and process refunds to our customers on all our ceramics provided that the item(s) are returned to our studio undamaged, checked by us and then we can issue a refund.

Customers may choose between:

  • A full refund to their original payment method, or
  • An online store voucher to be used on any future Shellegance shell drops

Please note that all Fine Art Prints are made to order.

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for prints ordered in the incorrect size.

Paper sizes and specifications are clearly listed on our website. Customers are responsible for selecting the correct size before purchasing.

What if my shell arrives broken or damaged?

We package each Shell with the greatest of care, and damages seldom occur, however, If your Item arrives in a less than perfect state, please email Lucie@luciedemoyencourt a photograph of the item, and its packaging, this will help us to see if we need to claim from our shippers for this.

We do our best to either refund or resend over a similar piece depending on the situation. The shipping cost of the new piece would have to be additionally paid for by the client - we do not cover shipping of damaged goods.

What if my shell gets double sold?

Due to the exceptionally high demand for Shellegance pieces, there are instances where multiple collectors may place the same shell into their baskets at the same time—for example, one in the US and another in South Africa. Because the checkout process ultimately determines the successful purchase, a shell may briefly appear as available even though it has already been secured by another customer.

This can result in some disappointment, but it is a natural outcome of the fast-paced and highly competitive nature of our limited releases.

We will be in communication with the collector when this happens - either a full refund will be initiated or a voucher to the same value.

When will I get my order?

We try to package your items within a week of the order, for very large orders, it may take up to 10 days, please bear with us as we are a small studio with a large output and we like to pack each package very carefully.

You should receive tracking orders in your email within 1 -10 days from the day or purchase.

Shipping times vary depending on your selection at checkout, for South African deliveries it is 3 days, for UPS economy shipping it could be up to 20 days, and for Fedex door to door it is 5-7 working days.

How much does shipping and tariffs cost?

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price upon checkout.

If your shipping bill is looking higher than usual, that is because we are not paying all of the VAT, Tariffs and duties upfront so that there are no surprises for the customer later.

Can you combine my orders?

If you have placed multiple orders via a collection drop, ask us about combining shipments and if any refunds on shipping costs are due to you, we will refund these at the time of booking the shipments.

Please note that there are not always shipping refunds as shipping costs are inlcuded in the shipping price - so it becomes tricky to separate the shipping costs, insurance and duties.

Shellegance collection drops

Each year, we release between four and six waves of shells, but to protect the integrity of the experience—and to prevent our website from crashing, which has happened before—we do not announce the exact release dates in advance.

Since its inception nine years ago, every collection has sold out. Collectors are encouraged to keep an eye on the website banner, where the release month is always updated, and to check back regularly—daily or weekly—as availability can change at any time.
