Carla Erasmus is co-founder of Bofred, the Cape Town design studio she launched in 2014 with Christa Botha. Both share a love of travel and a background in fine arts, and together they design and make furniture, lighting, mirrors and mohair rugs and blankets that sit between art and function, using natural materials such as wood, clay, stone and metals. From their showroom in East City, they champion the skilled Cape Town makers, artisans and manufacturers who bring each collection to life. Shellegance collaborated with Bofred to make Shell-F an electrical light sconce which is available through the Bofred website and combines a unique Shellegance shell into an elegant and colourful timber sculptural sconce.

We love working with Carla and Christa so much it was natural to invite this creative duo for a crafternoon! We are in looooove with this poetic botanical inspired shell, it is so dreamy! Dankie!
