Elise Wessels is the founder of Blackfan Studio, a Cape Town art and design studio specialising in ceramic surface design. Known for her signature sgraffito technique, she makes slab-rolled vases and hand-crafted ceramic ornaments adorned with detailed botanical illustrations, alongside small-batch scented candles and archival fine art prints. Trained in fine art, she also works as an illustrator and has made a series of etchings exploring the Shadow archetype of C.G. Jung.
