Lot_45_Oliver Scarlin
Oliver Scarlin was born in Cape Town in 1987 and is a fine artist represented by Ebony gallery. After studying applied design and illustration at Stellenbosch, he trained at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy (2012–2015), where he later served as an assistant instructor in drawing and figure. His perceptually focused paintings balance formal training with intimate, personal expression, and engage with the history of representation and the charged landscape of contemporary South Africa, moving between abstraction and figuration. He has exhibited across South Africa, including at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, and is represented by Dyman Gallery in Stellenbosch.
Oliver was the first artist to come and paint with me in January! It was so special to reconnect with him after many years. Oliver often paints exquisite seashells into his oil paintings, and we absolutely love this vibrant pink and yellow scallop! Thank you Oliver!
