Katherine-Mary Pichulik is the founder and creative force behind PICHULIK, the Cape Town ethical jewellery atelier she established in 2013. With a BA Honours in Fine Art from the University of Cape Town and a background as a pastry chef, she began with a hobby and a curiosity for rope and ornamentation, and the label is known for sculptural pieces in repurposed rope, cast brass, precious stones and organic materials. Inspired by a family “mythology” of women's empowerment, and made by a team of pan-African women and two men from an atelier above the Bree Street boutique, her work has earned recognition including African Fashion International's Accessory Designer of the Year and a place among Vogue Italia's top ten jewellery brands.

I am thrilled to have Kat join our philantropic auction and gettaway from her very busy studio so spend time painting! We collaborated on an incredible golden ceramic jewel called the Shellestial Pendant (@pichulikafrica) and every opportunity to be around Kat is inspiring and fun! Her shell has been painted in decorative shell like jewels in a loose and free expression, we absolutely love how this has turned out with the duck egg blue and rust it is so beautiful! thank you Kat!
